Tube Testing Services

Many problems can arise from the failure of tubing in heat exchangers and boilers. Eliminating problems with leaking feed water and condenser tubing can improve heat transfer performance and provide safe, reliable plant operation. Key assets in chemical sectors, heat exchanger tubes require regular non – destructive testing (NDT) to detect flaws early, respond proactively and prevent critical failures or unplanned shutdowns.

We offer a comprehensive program to determine the integrity of heat exchanger tubing by ensuring tubes are properly evaluated to detect damage or defects in both ferrous and nonferrous tubes. Our tube inspection specialists are cross trained to perform work in Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Chemical and other industries.

Traditional Eddy Current Testing (ECT)

Eddy Current Testing (ECT) inspection is based on electromagnetic induction caused by a magnetic field source (a coil with an alternating current sent through it) causing the induction of Eddy Currents in the electrically conductive material being inspected.Eddy Curent Testing is the rapid way to access the condition of conductive non ferromagnetic tubing in chillers, condensers, feed water heaters, evaporators and other heat exchangers.

Focus Integrity Solutions Private Limited provides quality inspections, with real-time results, Our quick response is available throughout nation because of our wide spread network of facilities.

Eddy Current Array (ECA)

Eddy Current Array (ECA) technology is a major advancement in Traditional Eddy Current method. This technology offers better coverage and a greater sensitivity to potential flaws due to the use of multiple eddy current coils. Focus Integrity Solutions Private Limited uses customized Eddy Current Array probes to best suit the application and required coverage. The number of coils and flexibility of the probe can be adjusted to inspect complex geometries.

Some major advantages of ECA over Traditional ECT are:

  • Increased probability of detection.
  • Can detect both circumferential and axial cracks.
  • Can detect cracks and other discontinuties near to tube sheets

Remote Field Electromagnetic Testing (RFET)

This method is typically used on ferromagnetic tubes of heat ex-changers and boilers and to effectively measure loss of wall thickness. A probe comprising a single or multiple transmission coils are positioned at twice the distance of the pipe diameter from the reception coil and uses a direct transmission mode allowing for detection of internal and external flaws.

At Fous Integrity Solutions we specilize in providing best inspection services for magnetic heat exchager tubes and boiler tubes having complex geomeries using custamized flexible probes.

Near Field Testing (NFT)

NFT is specifically designed to inspect air cooler (Fin Fans) tubes found in Oil & Gas industries. The NFT probes are designed to detect internal corrosion, inlet erosion, and I.D pitting commonly found in air coolers. This application has proven itself in the industry as a cost saving alternative.

Focus Integrity Solutions Private Limited has highly trained and skilled team to perform NFT throughout our nationwide network and facilities.

Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL)

The Magnetic Flux Leakage analysis confirms the presence of potential flaws due to wall thickness loss caused by corrosion or surface flaws such as cracks. Magnetic sensors are strategically positioned between the magnet poles to detect the flux leakage due to presence of such discontinuities. MFL is Compatible with inspection of finned tubes.

Deterring the condition of the component and proper reporting of damaged area is the ultimate goal of our team.

Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS)

Internal Rotating Inspection System (IRIS) uses Conventional Ultrasound to accurately measure the thickness and detect wall loss in variety of tube material. With the help of rotating turbine in coupling water, it ensures a complete 360° cover-age for the entire length of the tube.

Focus integrity solutions engages its team at the request of customer or when inspection results warrant the need for additional prove – up type information.

Partial Saturated Eddy Current – PSEC

Eddy current test procedures with premagnetization have been developed for detection of internal and external damages in tubes made from ferromagnetic materials like carbon steel, low-alloy steel, duplex or nickel alloys. This method can detect local as well as extensive corrosion, cracks and all known erosion types and differentiate between them. Even damages near by or under vulnerable support plate areas can be determined, and their depth can be identified with fair accuracy. This is a decisive advantage compared to competing NDT procedures like remote field tests (RFT) for instance.

The test accuracy resulting from this can be slightly below that of conventional eddy current procedures (depending on the tube material, tube dimension and type of defect).
